Mikarin has been playing piano and singing her whole life; in fact, vocal training was what brought her from Japan to Los Angeles. While attending Ani-Magic ’04, Mikarin began to realize the beauty and joy of cosplay as an art form expressing Japanese culture. Two years later at Ani-Magic ’06, she was given not only Best in Show but also the Judge’s Award from Vic Mignogna, who loved her costumes, audio track, and singing. Since then, Mikarin has strived to be the best costumer she can be. This year she has won major craftsmanship awards at Anime LA, Anime Expo, and Otakon. |

USA Musume is an American J-pop cover group specializing in performing and cosplaying from Japanese pop artists like Morning Musume, and other groups & soloists that fall under the umbrella of the successful Japanese production group, Hello! Project. USA Musume takes pride in honoring these artists by recreating performances that keep in mind the spirit of each song that they cover. Costumes and choreography are often true to the original, with occasional creative license taken to make performances unique to USA Musume. UM has a rotating cast of members, including Southern CA & Northern CA chapters, totaling over 20 members in its history. UM has appeared in numerous concerts and performances of many different Hello! Project musical numbers, as guests of cons and events throughout CA, since the troupe was established in 2002. USA Musume enjoys sharing this expression of their support of Morning Musume & Hello! Project with fans across the nation and in Japan!
