RULES FOR COSPLAYERS:
- To enter the contest, just sign up on Sunday, April 18, 2010 between 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Pacific Media Expo/Valley Gakuen table wearing the costume you made yourself.
- RATED G COSTUMES ONLY. The Cherry Blossom Festival of Southern California is a family festival. Dress accordingly.
- You must bring a colored printout of the character you are cosplaying or bring a manga/book/magazine with your character. We will return the manga/book/magazine to you.
- We are only taking 30 cosplayers maximum for this event. No skits. Individuals only.
- If you've already won a prize at the L.A Cherry Blossom Festival 2010, YOU CANNOT SIGN UP FOR THIS COSPLAY CONTEST. Please be fair to your other cosplaying colleagues.

The Monterey Park Cherry Blossom Festival 2010 is a free yearly event that attracts thousands of people from Monterey Park and the surrounding areas. It's a wonderful way to enjoy Japanese and Japanese American culture, food, and traditions all in one place.
The Monterey Park Cherry Blossom Festival 2010 will be on Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 11 AM to 6:30 PM and Sunday, April 18, 2010 from 11 AM to 6 PM at Barnes Park located on 350 S. McPherrin Ave., Monterey Park, CA.

VENDORS
Q: I want to buy a swap meet table. What do I need to do?
A: Because of the limited number of tables, you must follow the steps below:
- First, please read the rules here for a more pleasant and compliant vending experience.
- ONLY SWAP MEET VENDORS are allowed to purchase a table.
- The Swap Meet will run from 11 PM to 6 PM on Saturday and Sunday, April 17-18, 2010.
- Setup time is at 10:00 AM.
- Each space is equivalent to one full table. Each table will contain 2 chairs. THERE IS A LIMIT OF 10 VENDOR TABLES PER DAY FOR THIS EVENT.
- A full table is $22 PER DAY. Please specify if you want Saturday, Sunday, or both. Prepaid only by Paypal. If you are one of the first 10 people to sign up, we will give you the email address to make your Paypal payment. You must pay for your table within 24 hours or forfeit your table to someone on the Waiting List. Signups from 11 onward will go on the Waiting List. Please note that moneys from table sales go back to the cherry blossom festival as part of event support. Let's keep events like these free!
- In order to get a space, you must first submit a vendor registration form online, print the form, sign it, and present it to the PMX Swap Meet staff when you arrive at the event. Also, please bring a printed copy of your Paypal receipt to verify payment.
- You will receive a response from us informing you that you have reserved a spot.
- Bring your own table cloth/covering. The Monterey Park Cherry Blossom Festival is not responsible for providing table coverings.
- Those who did not get a spot will be notified that they have been placed on a waiting list.
- After you break down, please make sure that any trash that you generate in your area is deposited in a trash receptacle. The Festival will appreciate it.
Q: Do I need a temporary sellers permit?
A: It depends. If you have been selling at a swap meet or event ONCE prior to us in a 12-month period, you don't need one. If you have been selling at a swap meet or event for two times or more prior to us in a 12-month period, you will need one. You may contact the California State Board of Equalization at (800) 400-7115 for additional information.
Q: Will the Monterey Park Cherry Blossom Festival provide special parking spaces for swap meet vendors?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot provide special parking spaces at the Cherry Blossom Festival. However, if you arrive early to set up, the chances of getting good parking is greater.
Q: I'm going to be selling some cosplay replica weapons. Can I sell them?
A: Yes you may but at the discretion of the PMX Swap Meet staff. Replica cosplay weapons must be inspected and peace bonded first. The Monterey Park Police will be inspecting the festival on a regular basis. We want to be nice to the police.
Q: Is electricity provided? Any other amenities included?
A: The Monterey Park Cherry Blossom Festival/PMX does not provide electricity or other amenities like internet access, only what is described above.

Q: How much to get into the Cherry Blossom Festival?
A: The Monterey Park Cherry Blossom Festival is FREE to the public! Gratis! As in zero dollars. YAY! :)
Q: Is there parking nearby?
A: Yes, there's free street parking. However, the earlier you come the better your parking situation will be.
Q: Can I just take the shuttle to the Monterey Park Cherry Blossom Festival?
A: Yes, there are three free shuttle locations. Shuttles pick up and drop off to and from the festival at approximately every 15 minutes.

RULES FOR VENDORS
You must agree to these rules:
- Any adult, who is 18 or over, is eligible to obtain selling space at the swap meet and all sellers must sign an agreement to these rules.
- FOOD, whether prepackaged or not, IS NOT ALLOWED TO BE SOLD AT THIS EVENT.
- Swap Meet spaces are one table per person only.
- The sale or trade of weapons or dangerous materials such as fireworks or flammables are prohibited.
- The sale or trade of unlicensed, bootleg, or counterfeit goods is not allowed (e.g. SM, Everanime, Aliors, Elfin, fansubs). If it's on a burned CD or DVD, it's a bootleg. However, the sale and trade of doujin goods (comics, shitajiki, cards, or stationary) will be allowed. In general, any item that is an infringement of copyright law is prohibited.
- The sale of second-hand art commissions or previously used cosplay items is acceptable. Replica weapons are not allowed to be sold at this event.
- Please note that The Monterey Park Cherry Blossom Festival is a family-oriented event. The display of goods must be suitable for a general audience (i.e., G-rated). No adult material are allowed for sale at the Swap Meet. The sale, trade, or showing of adult materials to anyone under 18 is a crime. If you are caught selling or showing adult material to a minor, you will be evicted from the event and turned over to the authorities.
- A fee of $22 will be charged for each vendor's space. Each vendor's space is a full table. Payment pre-paid by Paypal only.
- A maximum of two people may be in a vendor's space.
- You may not bring your own table to the swap meet.
- Cash payment or bartering of items is permitted and is up to the discretion of the participants in the transaction.
- The Monterey Park Cherry Blossom Festival, PMX, and its staff are not legally responsible for the product's condition or stated condition. All transactions are between the seller and buyer.
- Sellers have the right to refuse a sale or barter with anyone.
- All products brought into the swap meet will be inspected, and all items that are in violation of these rules will not be permitted into the swap meet.
- Any questions regarding the implementation or interpretation of the rules above are subject to the final discretion of the PMX Swap Meet staff.
- Any instructions given by the PMX Swap Meet staff to enforce these rules, the rules or policies of the community center, and any applicable law must be followed immediately.
- The Monterey Park Cherry Blossom Festival reserves the right to refuse access to anyone.
