Pacific Media Expo PMX 2010 Swap Meet

Do you want to sell your collection of anime, manga, lolita clothes, jrock/jpop CDs, urban vinyl or anything that's related to Asian pop culture? Sell your collectibles at our Swap Meet!

Swap Meet Location and Hours

International Ballroom West - Friday and Saturday: 7:30 PM to 1 AM

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

Q: How much to get into the Swap Meet?
A: Both buyers and sellers will need a valid PMX Membership badge for entry to the Swap Meet. You can purchase a one-day, two-day, or full membership online at our Registration page. Sellers also need to purchase a table space as described below.

Q: Is there parking nearby?
A: Yes, the hotel has its own parking facility, but it's not free and charges are by quarterly or hourly rates. There is a flat rate for the whole day with validation. Check our Location page for more information.

Q: I want to buy a swap meet table. What do I need to do?
A: Sorry, swap meet sales are now currently closed.

Q: Do I need a temporary sellers permit?
A: It depends. If you have been selling at a swap meet or event ONCE prior to us in a 12-month period, you don't need one. If you have been selling at a swap meet or event for two times or more prior to us in a 12-month period, you will need one. You may contact the California State Board of Equalization at (800) 400-7115. Note: A permit is required prior to making sales. Advise the BOE if you have an urgent need for a permit.

Q: I'm going to be selling some cosplay replica weapons. Can I sell them?
A: Yes you may, but at the discretion of the PMX Swap Meet staff. Replica cosplay weapons must be inspected and peace bonded first. Our security staff and the hotel security will be inspecting the convention on a regular basis.

Q: Is electricity provided? Any other amenities included?
A: PMX does not provide electricity or other amenities like internet access, only what is described above. The location may have electrical outlets along the walls, but not everyone will have access to them. If you need internet access, the hotel has wireless internet (check back here for pricing and terms once we are able to verify them).

RULES FOR VENDORS
You must agree to these rules:
  • Any adult, who is 18 or over, is eligible to obtain selling space at the swap meet and all sellers must sign an agreement to these rules.
  • Swap Meet spaces are one space per person maximum. Your space may be a half-table (2.5 x 3 feet, $10 per day) with one chair, or a full table (2.5 x 6 feet, $20 per day) with two chairs.
  • Setup time is 30 minutes prior to opening each day.
  • The sale or trade of weapons or dangerous materials such as fireworks or flammables are prohibited.
  • The sale or trade of unlicensed, bootleg, or counterfeit goods is not allowed (e.g. SM, Everanime, Aliors, Elfin, fansubs). If it's on a burned CD or DVD, it's a bootleg. • You may not bring your own table to the swap meet.
  • Please respect the hotel. You may use a hand-truck or cart to move your material, but please do so discreetly and don't disrupt the other hotel guests.
  • At the close of the Swap Meet each day, all vendors must clear out their belongings. No storage of items will be allowed as the room is used for another function outside the Swap Meet hours.
  • Cash payment or bartering of items is permitted and is up to the discretion of the participants in the transaction.
  • PMX, its staff and/or the hotel are not legally responsible for the product's condition or stated condition. All transactions are between the seller and buyer.
  • Sellers have the right to refuse a sale or barter with anyone.
  • All products brought into the swap meet will be inspected, and all items that are in violation of these rules will not be permitted into the swap meet.
  • Any questions regarding the implementation or interpretation of the rules above are subject to the final discretion of the PMX Swap Meet staff.
