AMVs at PMX! Yes, Virginia, there is an Anime Music Video Contest at Pacific Media Expo.

By popular demand, we're bringing this much-requested event to PMX11. Amaze your friends by showcasing your anime video editing skills! Entertain others with your brand of storytelling!

Video categories will be:
Action, Comedy, and Drama.

Prizes awarded for:
Best of Show: AMV with the highest total votes. $200 (Voted on by the audience)
Best Action: AMV with the highest total votes in the Action category. $100 (Voted on by the audience)
Best Comedy: AMV with the highest total votes in the Comedy category. $100 (Voted on by the audience)
Best Drama: AMV with the highest total votes in the Drama category. $100 (Voted on by the audience)
PMX Staff Pick: AMV with the highest total votes among PMX staffers. PMX Goodies

PMX11 Anime Music Video Contest Rules

1. Each submission will be limited to a maximum length of 6 minutes. Any submission that exceeds the maximum time allowed will be subject to disqualification.
2. Submissions with nudity, offensive language, and/or excessive violence may be disqualified at the AMV Coordinator's discretion.
3. Anime Music Video submissions may be submitted in the following digital formats.

Playable DVD
Mpeg2
H.264
MS-DV
Avi
.MP4

Audio Codec Accepted:
PCM (Uncompressed)

4. Music videos will only be accepted if submitted on CD-R/RW, DVD-/+ R or DVD-/+RW Media only. Tape format (i.e. VHS, SVHS, and SVHS-ET) will NOT be accepted.
5. ALL submissions must be in a standard 4:3 NTSC video, res. 720 x 480.
6. A total of five (5) Anime Music Video Contest entries will be permitted per group, studio, team, or person. Contestants wanting to participate in multiple groups, studios, teams, and/or as an individual party will be allowed to enter a MAXIMUM of five (5) videos. Any further submissions will be disqualified.
7. Only two submissions per group/studio/person will be permitted to progress on to the finals.
8. Video intros and exits must be free of any and all text not directly related to the video content itself. Do not include studio bumpers, video credits or any lead-in/lead-out. Doing so will be grounds for disqualification.
9. Entries must be predominantly anime and/or video game footage. The audio portion must be primarily music. Excessive use of live action sequences and/or narration/dialog may be grounds for disqualification.
10. Poor quality video and/or audio submissions will be rejected.
11. PMX reserves the right to reject any video based on our discretion.
12. Submitted media cannot be returned. PMX is not responsible for lost or damaged media.
13. Contest winners that are attending PMX will have their prize(s) presented to them at the convention. PMX winners not in attendance will have their prizes mailed out to them.
14. All mailed entries must be submitted with the PMX AMV Entry Form.
15. Submission form will be required for your entry(s). Access submission forms here.

Entries can be submitted via snail mail or by online submission. For online submissions, use this form to submit an email request for a temporary FTP upload account. Don't forget to upload an AMV Contest submission form for each video. All mailed entries must be received (NOT post marked), by October 22, 2011 in order to be eligible for entry. All online submissions must be uploaded by no later than 5:00 pm PST on October 22, 2011.
