Microsoft Corp. acquired Powerset in 2008 to complement and innovate its own search engine, LiveSearch, and subsequently relaunched it as Bing. A dedicated community activist, having cofounded and helped grow StartOut, a national non-profit organization dedicated to fostering and developing entrepreneurship within the LGBT community, Thione serves also on the board of trustees of American Conservatory Theater and of Reason To Party, a non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of underserved Bay Area residents by raising money for charity groups through events held in collaboration with local businesses. Most recently he toured Asia in the Broadway Asia production, of the King and I recreating the same role. He toured the US in the First National of Miss Saigon where he understudied and played the role of the Engineer. His movie credits include The Great Race and The Next Race and has been seen on TV in ER, The Young and the Restless, General Hospital, Saturday Night Live, and Knot’s Landing.

He has lent his voice to the animated features Ironman ,Dr. Strange and Alpha and Omega, as well as TV cartoons, Scooby Doo, and Batman and numerous video games.
