School Themed Game Show at PMX 2013

Blue Rose Academy is a school themed game show where convention attendees are transformed into "foreign exchange students" visiting our academy. Any and everyone can participate in each class activity taught by our students.

Join us on our first official PMX K-Pop Dance Workshop! Our very own Krizthal Cruz will be there to present and teach two awesome dance choreography! Note: All participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and clothing. See you there!

We are happy to welcome Ball-Jointed Doll (BJD) enthusiasts to PMX. This year, there will be a painting demonstration for both resin and vinyl BJDs along with a swap-meet. The demo will cover techniques and theories on customizing dolls, and the swap-meet will have tables set-up for collectors to sell and trade their BJD-related items.

Compete against other eager PMX attendees who are also looking for the chance to win a "date" with a special guy or gal! Your chances of winning depends on how compatible you are with each other. Will you strike out or find your dream date? Love (and awesome prizes) could be waiting for you at Singled Out - Anime Style!

Please Note: Cosplay is encouraged and there is no need to pre-register to participate in this game show. Just drop in and join the fun! No real dates to be had here either, just fun and prizes - if you're looking for that sort of thing, we've got speed dating on Saturday night.

Ninja-Con Presents: Comedy Hour

Ever want to do stand up comedy? Have an interested story about your cosplay, convention trip or anything anime related? Come to our Comedy Hour show. Hosted by Jon Allen (inspired comedian from San Diego). This show is open for both new and veteran comedians (high encourage new comedians). Give your best 5-7 mins of comedy to a live audience and be critic by Dustbunny (Cosplay designer and Model), Chise-Chan (Head maid of Tokari Maid) and Vince the Prince (stage performer from OC). If you don't want to perform and want to see some comedy, bring a friend and support comedy.

Capturing PMX Memories

This year, PMX will debut our photo studio room. Do check it out and get your pictures taken. The room will feature different photographers at different times of the day. Bring yourself, your family, your friends, or any fellow PMX attendee to have your photos taken! Show off your wonderful Cosplay or just come and capture a little bit of memory. This is on a first come, first served basis. Please be mindful of the time and be courteous to other attendees waiting to get their pictures taken as well. We look forward to seeing you there!

Martial Arts Instructional and Informational Workshops

Pacific Media Expo (PMX) 2013 Martial Arts programming is set to once again bring you exciting martial arts action, instruction, and education on Veterans Day weekend Friday, November 8, through Sunday, November 10.

Saturday you can weigh/check in from 9:00 AM - 11:00 PM in the same room. Make sure you get your pass early; there will be plenty of opportunities to participate in your own martial arts experience, with the many martial arts workshops available for all PMX attendees to experience.

All pre-registered competitors for the Way of the Stick and Blade: Tournament of Filipino Martial Arts can weigh in from 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM on Friday, November 8, 2013 and from 9:00 AM - 11:00 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2013 in Catalina C on the second floor of the LAX Hilton. Be sure to check in early and pick up your convention passes so that you can start enjoying what PMX has to offer. There will be plenty of opportunities to participate in many martial arts workshops that are available to all PMX attendees as well as other events.

Perhaps console gaming isn’t your kind of thing. No worries, we’ll have a lounge specifically for handheld gaming so come on by! Whether you play Pokemon on the 3DS or Kingdom Hearts on the Vita, any handheld players are welcome. If you been trying to find a worthy Tetris opponent or need a partner in Little Big Planet, this is the place to be.

PMX will have a full array of panels featuring guest speakers, industry insiders, and fan evangelists. Come hear our guests and industry leaders talk about their past efforts and new projects. Find out when your favorite titles will be coming to market and learn the inside story on how the industry works. Expect to see fan panels covering topics as diverse as Asian street fashion, running a fan website, animation cel collecting, costuming and much more.
