Best of Action: AMV with the highest total votes in the Action category. $100 (Voted on by the audience)

Best of Drama: AMV with the highest total votes in the Drama category. $100 (Voted on by the audience)

PMX 2013 Anime Music Video Contest Rules

1. Each contest entry will be limited to a minimum length of 1.5 minutes to a maximum length of 5 minutes. Any contest entry that does not meet the minimum length or exceeds the maximum length will be subject to disqualification.
2. Contest entries with excessive nudity, offensive language, and/or extreme graphic violence may be disqualified at the AMV Coordinator's discretion.
3. AMV contest entries may be submitted in the following digital formats.
   Video Formats/ Codecs Accepted:
   • Preferred file type: H.264 in MPEG4 (MP4)
   • Also accepted: H.264 codec in MOV or AVI. DIVX in AVI or MPEG2
   • Recommended compression: H.264 at 2000 kbps (5000 kbps in HD)
   • Recommended resolution: NTSC 4:3 720 x 480 (~ HD entries will be accepted, but will be scaled down to standard definition. It is recommended for contestants to resize their videos to to the recommended resolution before submitting~)
   Audio
   • AAC or MP3 128 kpbs
4. Music videos sent in by mail will only be accepted if submitted on CD-R/RW, DVD-/+ R or DVD-/+RW Media only (Blu-Ray is not acceptable). Tape format (i.e. VHS, SVHS, and SVHS-ET) will NOT be accepted. A flash drive is acceptable. However the drive will likely not be returned.
5. Music videos sent by online submission must have a maximum file size lower than 600 mb.
6. A maximum of five (5) Anime Music Video Contest entries will be permitted per group, studio, team, or person. Contestants wanting to participate in multiple groups, studios, teams, and/or as an individual party will be allowed to enter a MAXIMUM of five (5) videos. Any further contest entries will be disqualified.
7. Only two contest entries per group/studio/person will be permitted to progress on to the finals for each category. Yes, the possibility of a sweep is there.
8. Video introductions and exits must be free of any and all text not directly related to the video content itself. Do not include studio bumpers, video credits or any lead-in/lead-out. Doing so will be grounds for disqualification.
9. Entries must be predominantly anime and/or video game footage (at least 80% by individual run time). The audio portion must be primarily music. Excessive use of live action sequences and/or narration/dialog may be grounds for disqualification.
10. Poor quality video and/or audio contest entries will be rejected.
11. PMX reserves the right to reject any video based on our discretion.
12. Submitted media cannot be returned. PMX is not responsible for lost or damaged media.
13. Contest winners that are attending PMX will have their prize(s) presented to them at the convention. Prizes for contest winners (U.S. Residents) not in attendance may have their prizes mailed to them. PMX WILL NOT mail prizes to addresses outside the United States.
14. All mailed entries must be submitted with the PMX AMV Entry Form. Entry form will be required for your entry(s). Access entry forms: here.

Entries may be submitted via snail mail or by online submission. For online submissions, please use this form to submit an email request for a temporary FTP upload account. Don't forget to upload an AMV Contest entry form for each video. All mailed entries must be received (NOT postmarked), by 11:59 PM of October 5, 2013 in order to be eligible for entry. All online submissions must be uploaded by no later than 11:59 PM of October 6, 2013.
