Martial Arts Instructional and Informational Workshops
Pacific Media Expo (PMX) 2013 Martial Arts programming is set to once again bring you exciting martial arts action, instruction, and education on Veterans Day weekend Friday, November 8, through Sunday, November 10.
Saturday you can weigh/check in from 9:00 AM - 11:00 PM in the same room. Make sure you get your pass early; there will be plenty of opportunities to participate in your own martial arts experience, with the many martial arts workshops available for all PMX attendees to experience.
All pre-registered competitors for the Way of the Stick and Blade: Tournament of Filipino Martial Arts can weigh in from 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM on Friday, November 8, 2013 and from 9:00 AM - 11:00 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2013 in Catalina C on the second floor of the LAX Hilton. Be sure to check in early and pick up your convention passes so that you can start enjoying what PMX has to offer. There will be plenty of opportunities to participate in many martial arts workshops that are available to all PMX attendees as well as other events.

Filipino Martial Heritage will be hosting a padded blade workshop. Guro Victor Gendrano, Jr., a long time student of the legendary Dan Inosanto, will walk attendees through the basics of Filipino blade fighting, using padded blades that will be used in on Sunday's Way Of The Stick and Blade Tournament. Gain experience and knowledge so that you may have the confidence to compete in Sunday's grand event. Padded blades will be available for use and sale. Location: Workshop 1, Carmel

Jeet Kune Do Workshop with professor Mike Rivas. Rivas is a long time student of the late Ted Wong, who was one of Bruce Lee's original and most trusted students. Come and get a glimpse of one of the most lethal martial arts for the past 40 years. Location: Workshop 1, Carmel

New Concept of Philippines Arnis (NECOPA) Balintawak with Master Rino Balinado. Rino has trained exclusively with the late Arnulfo Mongcal, one of the original students of the legendary Anciong Bacon, whose aggressive style of Filipino Martial Art, Balintawak, has been one of the most sought after systems to learn. Come join coach Joe Rey from the Southern California Combat Club for some Combat Submission Wrestling. This workshop will focus on a blend of ground fighting, grappling, wrestling, and jiu-jitsu, the mainstays of popular Mixed Martial Arts Events. As a long time wrestling coach and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu practitioner, his wealth of knowledge and experience has gained him much success training MMA fighters of today. Location: Workshop 1, Carmel
Feeling exhausted from all of the PMX excitement? Stop by on Sunday for a serious recharge with PMX's very own Filipino Martial Arts Tournament*. For the fifth straight year, PMX will once again be hosting the Way of the Stick and Blade: Tournament of Filipino Martial Arts. This premiere Filipino Martial Arts event will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013, from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. This is the only tournament where you can witness the Filipino Martial Arts of Eskrima, Kali, and Arnis, in a fast-paced and highly competitive sport format. Watch skilled practitioners from all over the world compete in competitive Filipino Martial Arts combat such as Sayaws/ Forms, live and padded single stick, padded blade, and mixed weapons padded blade.
