The Pacific Media Association, host of Pacific Media Expo, is pleased to welcome professional and amateur press to the largest convention dedicated to Asian Media and Pop Culture in the United States. In the interest of further enhancing PMX for attendees and credentialed press, we feature two different press badge classifications:
Standard Press
If you have previously covered PMX, have previous arrangements with the Press Office and/or meet the listed requirements, please register as Standard Press. A courtesy copy of your previous coverage is greatly appreciated at badge pickup.
Standard Press Badges feature:
1. All features of the Emerging Press badge.
2. Complimentary concert admission.
3. Access to the priority photographer pit (if applicable) and press seating area during special events.
4. The chance to request private interviews with our music guests and Guests of Honor.
Emerging Press
If you represent a student media organization, wish to focus on a specific event (such as Masquerade), and/or have never attended PMX, we invite you to register as Emerging Press.
Emerging Press Badges feature:
1. Complimentary full membership to PMX.
2. Access to the Press Assets Archive.
3. Entry into press conferences.
4. Priority photographer space during Masquerade, previously arranged fan panels, etc (with the exception of concerts).
Emerging Press Badges may not include complimentary access to concerts and other ticketed special events.
If you are interested in attending Pacific Media Expo as a member of the press, please submit a Press Pass Registration form. Once accepted, you will be notified via email if your application for press admission is approved and offered access to archived press assets. When you arrive at the convention, please pick up your badge at the Press Office. Without your press badge, you will not have access to the convention. Please note: a valid photo ID is required for press badge pickup.

Traditional Press Application
The publication has to be in publication before January 1, 2010, with at least a 7,500 circulation per issue. The publication must be published at least quarterly.
Media and Freelance Press Badge Application
If you are a freelance writer/journalist/photographer, please send us copies of your work along with your business card and a letter of introduction on company letterhead. Include an official photo identification showing your name and date of birth.
Broadcast Media
If you are a broadcast journalist or photographer, please include a letter from a producer/editor on company letterhead stating that you are covering Pacific Media Expo on assignment. Include an official photo identification showing your name and date of birth.
Documentaries
If you are filming for a documentary, submit any clips that you may have completed, a list of completed projects and a letter of introduction on company letterhead stating the purpose of the documentary. Include an official photo identification showing your name and date of birth.
Webzine Press Badge Application
- The website has to be live prior to August 1, 2010
- The webzine is updated weekly.
- The webzine must be focused on news or reviews.
- The webzine have to cover at least one of the following: Asian Culture (Reviews, critiques or discussions.) Asian Entertainment (Asian cinema, music or movies.)
