Filipino Martial Arts: Way of the Stick and Blade
Southern California’s Largest Filipino Martial Arts Tournament
Come and witness the highly competitive sport of the Filipino martial Arts of Esgrima, Kali, and Arnis (sayaws/forms, full contact stick fighting, and padded blade fighting) alongside various other Asian Media such as Anime, J-Pop, Cosplay, Hong Kong Cinema, and KoreanvDrama to name a few. The only place in the California… the World where you can see all of these together in one awesome event.
Tournament will be held on Saturday, November 13 from 9:30 AM until 5:00 PM and Sunday from 9:30 AM until 2:00 PM.

Masters, instructors, competitors, and guests, let me be the first to invite you to the Way of the Stick
and Blade: Tournament of Filipino Martial Arts to be held on Friday thru Sunday November 12-14th, 2010
at the luxurious Pasadena Hilton.
This tournament is geared to promote and propagate the Filipino Martial Arts through competition. It is
our hope to help give experience to any first time competitors as well as provide those long time practitioners an
open venue to test and hone their skills. We will be highlighting three forms of competition: Forms/ Sayaws,
Full Contact Stick Fighting and Mixed Weapons Padded Blade sparring. Forms/ Sayaws and Full Contact Stick
Fighting follow the rules and regulations of the World Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation (WEKAF), currently the
largest competitive Filipino Martial Arts organization in the world. This part of the event will be held on
Saturday. The Mixed Weapons Padded Blade Sparring is a fairly new but exciting competition highlighting the
use of single blade, double blade, and blade and shield… all padded blades of course. This event will strictly be
on Sunday though Guro Victor Gendrano Jr. who is running this part of the event will be giving a demonstration
of the format on Saturday.
All competitors who pre-register before Saturday October 23rd, 2010 and the heads of their schools will
receive a tournament shirt and a 3-day PMX Convention pass. Unfortunately for those who miss this deadline
they will have to pay additional for these two items as well as increased costs for registration. So make sure
you send your registration in early!!!
