Domestic Voice Actress: Rebecca Forstadt

Sunday Nov. 13 at 12:00 PM in Los Angeles A (LP2)

Rebecca Forstadt Rebecca has been a voice over actor, well known in the anime genre for over 30 years. She has also appeared as a critically acclaimed actress on stage in Hollywood, starred in 2 motion pictures, and worked in various on camera roles in television.

However, it was her very distinctive voice that led her into the voice over arena. After 30 years she still sounds like a kid. While pounding the pavement one day, she happened upon an ad seeking an actor who could do kid voices. The ad was for a studio in Hollywood that was churning out foreign animation and live action projects dubbed in English. Many were Japanese. Rebecca’s voice was perfect for the roles of young girls and teens.

For the most part, many of those projects didn’t seem to be going anywhere specifically, until a man named Carl Macek entered the picture. He brought in a project called Robotech that changed the anime industry forever. Rebecca landed one of the lead roles as a sixteen year old singer named Lynn Minmei. Robotech became a phenomenon that has lasted to this day and recently celebrated it’s 25th anniversary.

Once Robotech started airing on national television, more anime projects began to flow into the Los Angeles area. Rebecca has since worked on hundreds over the years. She was Maia Devlin in Space Pirate Captain Harlock, Pai in 3X3 Eyes, Patty Rabbit in Mapletown, Mihoshi in Tenchi in Tokyo and Tenchi Movie 2 and 3, Nunnally Lamperouge in Code Geass, Tima in Metropolis, Sugar in Snow Fairy Sugar, Suiseseki in Rosen Maiden, Naomi in Twilight of the Cockroaches, Primera in Magic Knight Rayearth, Tachikoma in Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Ai in Digimon, Farleen in Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, Sharon in Blood the Last Vampire, Tama Chan in Bottle Fairy, Alice Henderson in Speed Racer, Juliette in Dogtanian, Ayane Isuzu in Gatekeeper, Rika Furude in When They Cry, Rita in Suikoden IV, Izzy Randal, Cyberdoll Rena in Hand Maid May, Lynn Minmei in Robotech Battlecry, Chizuko Oe in Mahoromatic, and many many more. Many are not listed on the IMDB.

She has appeared in Hey Arnold, My Little Pony, Dilbert, The Mr. Men Show, as well as a large number of radio and TV Commercials for companies such as Mattel, Knott’s Berry Farm, Disneyland, Verizon, etc.

Rebecca is very adept at ADR (Automatic Dialogue Replacement) She has replaced voices in major motion pictures including ANTZ, Dr. Doolittle, The Santa Clause, The Brady Bunch Sequel, Beverly Hills Cop 3, Cyborg, Innerspace, Wrestling with Ernest Hemingway, Power Rangers, Babes in Toyland, Falcon Crest, etc.

Conventions that she has appeared at include: Comic Con, Anime Expo, Jacon, Sugoi Con, Marcon, Fanime Con, Sacanime, Nan Desu Kan, Creation Conventions, Power Morphicon, Robotech 10, 20 and 25. She is always up for a fun trip.

In addition to her voice over career she is a serial entrepreneur and avid blogger. You can read her blog at
